Summary

As a Skilled Construction Laborer at Vaughan Pools, Inc., you will join our Jefferson City construction team and travel to job sites throughout Mid-Missouri to build custom inground gunite, vinyl liner, and fiberglass swimming pools. This full-time, hands-on position requires construction ability, physical stamina, attention to detail, and a commitment to completing work to craftsman-like standards. On-the-job training will be provided, with opportunities to learn specialized pool construction skills and grow into a lead role.

Responsibilities

• Travel from the Jefferson City location to construction sites throughout Mid-Missouri in provided company transportation.
• Assist with all phases of custom inground pool construction, including gunite, vinyl liner, and fiberglass pool projects.
• Perform site preparation, material handling, equipment setup, installation support, backfilling, concrete and deck preparation, and job-site cleanup as assigned.
• Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment appropriate to assigned tasks.
• Follow project plans, measurements, crew-leader instructions, and established construction procedures.
• Complete assigned work accurately, efficiently, and to craftsman-like quality standards.
• Work cooperatively with crew members, supervisors, subcontractors, and other trades.
• Load, unload, organize, and protect construction materials, tools, and equipment.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe job site while following all company safety requirements.
• Learn specialized pool construction techniques and accept increasing responsibility as skills develop.

Qualifications

• Previous construction, skilled-trade, or related general labor experience is required; pool construction experience is not required but preferred.
• Strong work ethic and a dependable, energetic, self-motivated approach.
• Ability to follow directions, work as part of a team, and complete assigned tasks with limited supervision.
• Attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality finished work.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn all aspects of inground pool construction.
• Ability to perform physically demanding construction work, including lifting, carrying, bending, kneeling, climbing, and working on uneven terrain.
• Ability to work outdoors in heat, cold, rain, and other changing weather conditions.
• Good personal, social, and communication skills.
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• No high school diploma, GED, or college degree is required.

Job Type: Full-time – approximately 40 hours/week with overtime as needed. This is a year-round position and working through the winter is required.

Pay: Competitive pay structure – varies by experience

License/Certification:

• Valid driver’s license (Required)

• Must have reliable transportation to and from the Jefferson City location
